Types of shows:

Custom packages are available based on your needs. Here are some of the more common options:

Traditional full show

The most common show. 20 - 30 minutes of dancing including finger cymbals, silk veil, and music both fast and slow. If you're serving dinner at your event, schedule this to start when dessert is served for best results!

Mini show

A condensed version of the full show; 10 - 12 minutes of dancing. Good for smaller parties and luncheon events.

1 hour group lesson

Great for bridal showers, birthday parties, etc! Aslahan teaches your guests some steps and leads them in dancing.

Academic presentation/cultural demo

Past content has included lectures on the history and culture, performances in both Oryantal and Romani styles, teaching of steps, discussion of rhythms and music, and Q&A sessions.

Themed event presence

Greeter/wandering performer to add ambiance to an Arabian Nights or other Middle Eastern themed event. Folkloric or nightclub-style costuming. May include a mini show.

Frequently asked questions:

Can we book Aslahan for a bachelor party/all male event?
Sorry, no. While you and your friends may be very respectful, a certain type of show is usually expected at bachelor parties that isn't consistent with family-friendly belly dance.
Can my kids/grandmother attend the show?
Absolutely! Aslahan provides family entertainment. Children are often the most enthusiastic audience - they love the bright colors and movement of the costumes, and the lively music.
I'm having an event in a restaurant - Can Aslahan come and perform there?
Absolutely, if you clear it with the restaurant ahead of time, and they have the space for a dance show. The restaurant will need to have an entertainment license and have their staff prepared to work around a dancer.
Do you require a deposit?
A 50% nonrefundable deposit is required to hold your date for you. Usually this can be paid online via PayPal invoice. Let us know if you need another option.
